The Role: Greenhouse Installer
As a Greenhouse Installer you’ll step into a rare opportunity in the trades. This is a hands‑on role that benefits from prior practical experience in a trade, construction, DIY or a similar field; you should be confident with tools, comfortable working with a variety of materials and able to apply a logical, common‑sense approach to problem solving.
There’s no formal qualification or official training scheme – you’ll learn on the job, supported by experienced colleagues and practical on‑site guidance. This role suits someone who wants to develop highly sought‑after, transferable skills, become a specialist in a growing industry and build a long‑term career.

Tasks:
Your role will cover a range of tasks including, but not limited to:
- Preparation of foundations – Groundworks, poured concrete, slab bases, outline bases.
- Safe handling of glass – Unpacking, organising and glazing of greenhouses.
- Pre-assembly of both aluminium and timber framed greenhouses in our workshop.
- Loading & unloading of greenhouse components & building materials/equipment.
- On site installation of greenhouses & garden buildings.
- On site repairs of greenhouses and garden buildings/structures.
Requirements:
Suited to an individual who is personable and has an exceptional eye for detail and finesse.
Having previous experience and an interest in hands-on, DIY/practical tasks and using basic hand tools is a must. An interest in Mechanics/Building/Engineering or similar would be beneficial.
You must be prepared to work outside in all weathers, work well in a small team as well as alone, take instructions and interact politely with customers.
You must hold a full, clean UK driving license and have your own method of transportation.
Key skills and attributes:
- Moderate practical skills of using a range of powered tools & hand tools.
(ie: tape measure, spirit level, powered tools/equipment) - Able to maintain a safe & tidy working environment at all times.
- Competent at working at heights using ladders and steps.
- Attention to detail & working to a high level of accuracy.
- Able to demonstrate problem solving abilities to troubleshoot and provide solutions.
- Reliable, punctual & polite.
